Talking about educational issues

The last week it was my very first time teaching at school. I thought it was gonna be worse, but it wasn’t fortunetely. I introduced myself with a misterious and strange ease (I didn’t come up with it) Children behaved relatively well. An eight-grade course is expected to be rebellious, but once I went through them, the relationship became pedagogically sorprising. For instance, I would not recommend others basing on theories nor does anything like that to teach. I would use my mind, instead. The common sense.

A friend attending classes like me, mentioned about how difficult it had been dealing with upperest grades. I think. This is common. Their interests are changing into adult stuff. I mean flashing back to my past, the only thing they want is to go away from school. I put in their shoes. We know the prays we said to go out of there. Why Now does it sorpise us?

How do we encourage them to study then? Most part of the sources, within the clasroom, is being destined to promote a sense of calm and relaxation. 10 minutes for the students to get behaved, 10 minutes more for the students to listen and pay attention, and then, after a lot of work, the class gets started.

Did I notice any problem?

Yes, I did notice something like misbehaving over there.

Did I do something to stop it?

Any. I was more into the way the teacher leaded the class.

Do students work well on English and history tasks?

I can say sure that they do well with those things.

As you know, Being a teacher is an art, not only by the way one has to treat and get the class ahead, but one should also be a teacher, father, brother and friend all at once. That’s what makes it a science completely innovative and interesting. :D

If I could rate my working place, I’d give it a 6.8.

First approaching. VICE I

On Monday 8th 2008. A bunch of us are going to attend classes at different schools in the fifth region. This initiative named VICE, was
born from the idealism for creating an approach into real chilean educational system for young would-be teachers that are studying at universities. I’m personally enthusiastic and determined to do my best on it.

As you know, education is one of the most difficult things to deal with because its process varies constantly, leaving behind (in most of the cases) a lot of socio-psico and philosopic theories on the way. We realize then that we are facing stuff completely different from what our idealistic teachers have lectured on in the classroom.

To start, I’ve set up a blog which is to be focused on our experiences and stuff concerning education.
